Talking all things 'music' at Wedding Ceremonies.

Top 10 inspiring ‘love songs for reflection’, at Celebrant-led wedding Celebration Ceremonies.

As Plato said, “Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything.”

The music you select for your wedding ceremony is both a significant and joyous element of the celebration and often sets the mood for your special day.

As a Celebrant, it is always a delight to learn about the music you choose for your Wedding Celebration Ceremony. I love hearing the unique tracks you select and the story behind why you have chosen them. One opportunity for fabulous, meaningful music to be played is when you sign your commitment certificate.

It is the moment when you can relax, after you have said your promises or vows, maybe exchanged rings and sealed the commitment with a beautiful, bespoke hand tying ribbon ceremony. The reflection track plays in the background as you savour the moment together and sign your commitment certificate, in front of your chosen witnesses, the most significant gathering of your loved ones.

As Plato, so aptly puts it “Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything.”

Maybe it’s the theme tune from the first movie you saw together, the first song you first danced to, the music you listened to whilst studying.

I wonder what music you will choose to listen too, while you are signing your wedding commitment certificate? And once you have chosen “the song”, then decide how you want it played…. maybe a recorded track, live music with a harpist, violinist, string quartet, classical or soul singer, piano, the choice is endless.

So here are the top 10 love songs and live music played to sign commitment certificates in my recent wedding ceremonies.

• If I Should Fall Behind By Faith Hill

• I only bought you flowers by The Other Guy

• You’re my best friend by Queen

• Clair du Lune by Debussy

• Yours by Ella Henderson

• Indestructible by Sophie Hill

• Stargazing - Moonlight version by Myles Smith.

• Viva La Vida by Simply Three and Wildest Dreams - Duomo – Inspired by Bridgeton

• Married Life - Soundtrack from Disney Pixar's 'Up' played by Russell

• Better Together by Jack Johnson

I'm curious about what music choices resonate with you, so please feel free to let me know your perfect “reflection music”?

“Music produces a kind of pleasure which human nature cannot do without.” Confucius
